Diego G. Loyola R. received the Dr.-Ing. degree in remote sensing from the Technische Universität München in Germany. Since 1990 he has been a Scientist and Project/Program Manager with the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt - DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, and in 2016/2017 and 2000 was a Visiting Scientist with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, USA. He is worldwide one of the leading scientist in the area of atmospheric composition measurements from space and related applications. His research interests are with remote sensing of atmospheric trace gases, cloud and aerosol properties, as well as computational intelligence and machine learning techniques. He has over two decades’ experience in leading international and interdisciplinary projects with scientist and engineers working across Europe and North America.
