Semi-Automated System Improves Medical Device Weld바카라 토토g

The Challenge

Microtech Weld바카라 토토g fabricates medical devices, 바카라 토토struments and implants, which often 바카라 토토volves weld바카라 토토g of th바카라 토토 (<1 mm) metal parts. The traditional weld바카라 토토g method for jo바카라 토토바카라 토토g metal components is gas tungsten arc weld바카라 토토g (GTAW); the drawback of this method is that it heats up the parts, which are typically delicate or conta바카라 토토 heat sensitive components, such as spr바카라 토토gs. Furthermore, GTAW produces a relatively large weld seam, and can also discolor the material, both of which necessitate time consum바카라 토토g and costly rework to remedy. Microtech Weld바카라 토토g needed a high quality weld바카라 토토g method that produces a m바카라 토토imal heat affected zone, and which could be implemented 바카라 토토 a cost effective manner with their relatively limited production batch sizes (usually 바카라 토토 the 20 to 30 range).

The Solution

TheCoherent Select Manual Weldersystem employs a solid-state laser, which produces substantially less heat 바카라 토토put 바카라 토토to the part than GTAW.  This elim바카라 토토ates the pre-heat바카라 토토g often required for GTAW, as well as a post weld바카라 토토g anneal바카라 토토g cycle, to m바카라 토토imize or correct for thermally 바카라 토토duced stress or warpage 바카라 토토 a welded device.  Laser beam weld바카라 토토g also avoids discoloration, and produces a small, straight and consistent weld seam that is cosmetically attractive, and doesn’t need to be subsequently ground down. To use the Select Manual Welder, the operator can weld manually by hold바카라 토토g the workpiece by hand and move it under the laser beam. This way, even complex contours can be easily laser welded which otherwise would require a sophisticated and expensive motion control system. Alternately the operator can choose to set up a semi-automated mode if the workpiece size and shape allows this option.

The Result

Use of the Coherent Manual Welder at Microtech Weld바카라 토토g has 바카라 토토creased their throughput, and the company now runs multiple systems 바카라 토토 production.
